The American Academy of Spine Physicians is dedicated to educating patients, physicians and the public about the spine and available spinecare. To help accomplish this task the AASP provides a variety of resources including a link to the International Spine Association (ISA) online Public Information Center abbreviated the PIC. This represents one of the largest online multimedia databases of need-to-know information about spinecare for the public.

Various medical specialists such as chiropractic physicians and neurosurgeons have extensive training in neurology, spinal anatomy, spinal biomechanics, and in diseases of the spine, thus, serving as the basis for cooperative care. By working together, physicians of various disciplines can provide efficient care for the full spectrum of spine disorders. Other physician members of the spinecare team include pain management specialists, orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologist, and physiatrists. The primary care physician is also an important member of the spinecare team
