Chiropractic Adjustment of Pelvis Alignment
Chiropractic Adjustment of Pelvis Alignment
n assessing the pelvis for misalignment again we are going to palpate the sacroiliac joints of the sacrum to see how those joints are moving and to see how the sacrum is position and the way that we do that is as we did before find the top of the hips and it is usually around the line of the belt and it is easy to find and we are going to work our way in until there is usually these two kind of nodules or bumps that are usually landmarks and most peoples' are easy to find. That marks the joint where the sacrum is meeting those ilium so we get in there and we basically are just going to put some pressure from side to side to see if there is equal fluidity or equal motion from one side to the other. Then we are going to work a little bit more mid line from there and that is the sacra bone and we are just feeling that triangular space from there to see if one side feels like it is sticking out more than the other and we can then get in there and give it a little push one side to the other just to feel if one side does not want to move or nicely shift like the other one does. From here we are also going to come down to the feet of the patient and we are going to do a leg length check. What this test does is to tell us if there has been an imbalance on the pelvis or the ilium one side to the other and what we are going to do is give one side a little pull and stretch them out to see if one leg is shorter than the other and so for instance here the right side is a little shorter than his left and what I do is bring it up to see if it balances out and if it comes even then that tells me that we have what we call an inferiority on this right side. If it did not balance out and it stayed short then chances are we have a superiority on the opposite side so we take that information into consideration and then as we go in to approach the adjustment we bear those things in mind and that is how we work to find the misalignments and then head for the correction.
