UK scientists have concluded a near zero risk of having a serious adverse event or neck fracture following Chiropractic manipulation.

According to the article published in the Journal of Spine, no serious adverse events were reported through the study period.

Fainting, dizziness, light-headedness, headache, numbness or tingling in upper limbs were some of the minor side effects, occurring either immediately or within seven days after treatment.

Additionally, researchers have also found that chiropractic adjustments affect the biological and physiological processes on a cellular level.

The manipulation technique the study focused on was defined as the application of high-velocity/low-amplitude or mechanically assisted thrusts to the cervical spine.

A previous study, published in 1993, found that chiropractic management of low-back pain is superior to allopathic medical management in terms of reduced cost, greater safety and effectiveness.
