Coastal Chiropractic and Family Wellness Center
Ventura Chiropractor: Dr. Matthew Leonard
Simply put, I wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem.
The problem of our health care system. The problem of taking a drug for a symptom. The problem of having back or neck surgery, when in most cases there are less invasive more beneficial approaches. I wanted to be a part of the solution. The true solution of simply finding why someone would have certain symptoms, headaches, low back pain and correct them. Every patient is unique and my goal is and always has been to find the underlying cause of the problem and fix it naturally without drugs or surgery.
Chiropractic has always been a big part of my life. At a younger age, I had a severe fall which resulted in loss of motion from the neck down as well as a large degree of scoliosis. I was told I might not gain normal motion again and that I would probably have to have surgery to correct my spine. After that advice, I was taken to a chiropractor who took x-rays and told me he was not sure if he could help, but he would do all he could. After care with this chiropractor, I gained complete and normal motion and my spine had very little scoliosis. Since that day I started my career path toward the natural power of chiropractic.
Dr. Leonard began his pre-chiropractic education in San Diego where he studied the basic sciences such as physics, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses. After completing his study there, he was accepted at Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, Ca. During his four years at Life West, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life West Clinic. He also spent time teaching chiropractic adjusting courses on his time off. After graduating Dr. Leonard was happy to returned to Ventura to establish his practice.
"My overall goal is to find the cause of your symptom, treat it naturally, and help you achieve a life of optimal health and wellness naturally without the use of drugs and surgery", explains Dr. Leonard. "Health does not have to be expensive, but sickness always is. I want to provide chiropractic care to my community and make it affordable as well as make my office a place where people feel comfortable and look forward to visiting. Coastal Chiropractic follows the principles of the Rotary 4-Way Test: Is it the Truth? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships? Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?. I feel strongly the answer is YES to all of these questions and I hope to see you in my office soon."
Dr. Leonard is married to Charlotte who is a triage nurse for Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association which is a non-profit organization. They live in beautiful Ventura and you could see them quite often riding their bikes along the beach. Dr. Leonard grew up in Ventura and he is very happy to be back home and able to surf his favorite spots! Charlotte is from Jacksonville Beach, Florida and also loves the beach and just to be outside and active.
"I have always been one to practice what I preach", smiles Dr. Leonard. "I get adjusted on a weekly basis to keep my body functioning optimally and do my best to get outside and stay active with things that make me happy like surfing, soccer, and bike rides with my wife. Chiropractic and health go hand-in-hand and I make sure that I reach out to as many people as possible to help them live a life of optimal health and wellness. However, I can't reach out to everyone in the surrounding area alone, I need your help. Let's build a healthy community together".
“I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person, discuss your specific health challenge, and help you take your first step towards better health. Give our office a call or email me with the link below.”
