Judge tosses out paralyzed woman's lawsuit against Alberta chiropractors
EDMONTON — A $529-million class-action lawsuit against Alberta chiropractors — started by a woman who claimed a neck adjustment left her paralyzed — has been tossed out of court.
In a decision released this week, Court of Queen's Bench Justice Paul Belzil said the case, launched by Sandra and David Nette, did not satisfy the legal requirements needed for him to order a certification of a class-action lawsuit.
"The plaintiffs are unable to satisfy any of the requirements, thus it necessarily follows that the application must be dismissed," he wrote.
